Bring out your dead.
Here’s an idea: let’s not go poking around in old asylums with fresh bodies just sitting there under sheets. Nope.
Without spoiling anything, the Dragon faction quests are by far the most enjoyable/terrifying.
I’d really like to know what the Templars were fielding during their open war with the Illuminati in the 1600s if the Illuminati felt that they had to respond with war golems like this.
I might have been OK with Hebrew script at one time, but my Arabic was never really up to snuff, and it appears I need both right now. This is going to be a loooong investigation…
Code breakin’ like a bawse in The Secret World (don’t look too closely if you don’t want this mission spoiled.)
This is one of the reasons I love TSW so much. Genuinely tough problem-solving and cryptography.

Shani’s pretty great, yo.

How is TSW? I was interested in it but never followed up.
It’s pretty good. I mean, it’s a moderate-sized MMO, with all the normal annoyances that brings, but it’s generally well done and fun. The skill system is neat, since it means you can alter how you play on a whim, and the limitation of 7 active/7 passive skills equipped is less limiting than it might first seem (especially with being able to swap these out on the fly.) But at the end of the day, you’re just mashing buttons until mobs fall over and completing quests until you get bored.
It’s the setting that really either sells it or not depending on what you personally like. It’s a modern horror/conspiracy theory setting, with nods to Lovecraft (obviously) but also to Stephen King, John Carpenter, Alfred Hitchcock, etc Most missions are by-the-numbers, but there are enough interesting investigation/puzzle solving/stealth missions that there’s usually something to look forward to.
The investigation missions are what I personally love. By now, most of them have spoilers available on Google if you just want to rush through them, but taking the time to figure out that (for example) a given phrase is actually an oblique reference to a biblical passage that you’ll need to read for a passcode, or guessing a NPC’s computer password based on things they might mention in passing in completely unrelated conversation can be incredibly rewarding.
The Secret World : Shambala.
Anyone else in The Secret World Beta this weekend?
